Yes an executive decision will see a COG held at MacNamara Park at Broke, NSW in August this year.

I have set the date for the weekend of 22 and 23 August however open to discussion on it.

At this early stage those dates suit me.
The only down side to Broke is the availability of firewood, I can bring a bit (half a tonne) rather than buy it off Mr Robin Basket at Broke who sold us that rubbish at $120/tonne last time.
Roll on August.

Rob.

Hi Derek,
As I advised earlier, Russell and Jilli will be at Broke (we hope) as we have sold our Royal Flair and have ordered another van which we hope to pick up around 10th August, 2015 from Caloundra, Qld.   Give or take a few days all should be well.     We have selected a  20 ft Roadstar Voyager as the positive last one.   Very funny story of how all the change unfolded.    Jilli alias Topknot.  x x x

We are heading off Sunday with expected arrival at Broke on Friday. Going to spend a couple of days in the Peel Valley south of Tamworth.  Most likely camping at Chaffey Dam.

I upgraded the solar and battery system on the van last week and keen to see how it all goes.  I now have gone from 120 watts of solar and 100 ah of battery to 480 watts of solar and 200 ah of battery.

Welcome to tag along if you like Aart.

Thanks for the offer Derek.
We are leaving on 19/8  and going down the coast road.
This will be my first real caravan tow of any distance and I am keen to use as much of double divided highway as possible.

Till now I've only driven to Bribie and back.

I can bring a few large hardwood blocks with the emphasis on "a few", I'm very restricted by space..............bringing a bit of CI. :) :)

If wood is a problem, take a portable fireplace with you. Don't need much wood in a choofer or a pig.

Would be great to see a community camp oven stew in your 24 incher KB.

Bit of this, bit of that. Just don't let Derek throw any offal in the pot  ;D

I'm just starting to pack for this COG. I know that there will be a few collectors at this one, and that normally we try to bring a few extra ovens for show and tell. I thought by putting up a list of what I'm bringing it may save some doubling up on sizes and makes.
Here is what I intend packing. Metters 8,9,10,11, 12, and 14. QLD rail oven. 16 inch Albion,8 inch Furphy bean pot, and the 20inch Carron.
I believe Dave is bringing a 22 incher and that KB will have his 24 in tow.
At the rate things are going we should have a pretty nice display of ovens between us. Hopefully anyone else who can will bring something to add to the collection.
Looking forward to seeing you all there
SBB

Keeping the weight down in the van.
Just bringing Lodge 8 and 10 as well as Camp Chef 14.
Purely for cooking unfortunately.
Leaves more room for beer etc.

KB, my son has claimed the Furphy 12".
He is showing a real interest in CO cooking.

No worries Aart good to see him taking an interest.  :)
Just doing a test run in the 24 at the moment. I want to see if it can cook a damper  :) Im a bit worried with the high dome lid I might not get as good a browning effect. Its hard to keep coals on it. Anyway If It is no good for cooking dampers, I might see if Poddy would let me use his Metters 16 I see has listed to bring. That is the oven I normally cook dampers in but I'm not bringing mine this trip.

Gee that was a kind offer SBB. At this stage though you can keep your "nice oven" as the 24 cooked a lovely damper tonight ;D ;D
Saturday doesn't look too bad weather wise by my forecasts. Only predicting 50% chance of 1mm but Sunday on the other hand they are predicting 90% chance of 10mm to 20mm so thats not real good.

I would just need a hand to put up and pack down it's not huge but it makes for a good common area.
