Title: Beef ribs Post by Lewis on Jun 9th, 2016 at 9:08pm
Cooked these beef ribs up today in the camp oven on the fire inside the house, was a slow cook just over 3hrs,and they were very nice, first timer cooking these and was very happy, the meet was very tender and fell off the bone,$17 for 6 ribs,it was a rush decision so I didn't have time to find a recipe
Has anybody got a good recipe for ribs because I'll be cooking these again soon Thanks for any ideas image_1035.jpg (35 KB | ) |

Cast Iron Boys have one in their Recipe Book.
Kilo of ribs cut up with 2 litres of cola in a CO and bring to boil for 30 minutes. Remove the ribs and drain off the cola. Brush the ribs with smokey BBQ marinade. Bake for 1 hour, basting every 15 mins. Simple as.. Haven't tried it yet, but I will be. Aart |

SBB I'd have to say the best ribs I've ever tasted were the ones you did at King Browns I've never tasted anything like them ever I know there was more on the menu that night but it all stopped after a fill of your ribs ... What did you use there mate it seemed to stop us in our tracks :)

Yeah you should be able to Lewis. I've always got a bottle of smokey BBQ sauce in my cupboard which I get from Woolies so imagine there'd be a marinade there somewhere.

The coke one is a bit messy to clean up after. I have done it with bourbon and bbq sauce which is yum but also messy to clean. I think SBB did them on a trivet here one night,

I have no idea Rolly, probably had a few rums before I concocted something to put on them. Glad that they turned out ok and that you enjoyed them :-/ |
