Quite relaxing in our household  :)

Plenty of tea candles flickering away. Nice chicken steaks cooked outside in the jumbuck.

Charging my phones on the battery porta pak.
I could bring my 12v TV inside, but enjoying the peace.

Cindy's relaxing in hospital with her new hip.

Was out this afternoon when the power went out in the Big Green Shed. All traffic lights are off, but lucky I was driving home against the peak hour flow.

Sitting here like an old fart listening to ABC radio  :)

Our power came on at 3am this morning. Cheers Brian.

Copied from Public Bushfire Notification and Updates SA

RESIDENTS ARE ADVISED TO REMAIN VIGILANT FOR ANOTHER STORM FRONT TO HIT 3PM.
POWER OUTAGE COULD HAPPEN AGAIN TODAY.
FLOOD WATCH FOR THE MID NORTH, MOUNT LOFTY RANGES AND ADELAIDE METROPOLITAN DISTRICT.
Last nights storm caused chaos in all of South Australia, with a state wide blackout. Hospitals were in darkness, nurses were working by torch-light, tram lines hated, traffic lights went dark, people were trapped in elevators, and a state wide emergency was declared. The storm delivered over 100mm of rain, and gust of winds up to 120km/h.
THIS IS NOT THE END OF THE STORM.
Another strong front of the storm is expected to hit around 3PM today, posing the possibility of another blackout. Residents are asked to remain vigilant, asses their damage from last nights storm, and prepare for another cold front this morning.
Flooding is occurring in the Light and Gilbert Valleys Catchments and the Wakefield River Catchment. Towns downstream of Hamley Bridge and Rhynie may have some flooding during Saturday.
An intense low pressure currently tracking across the north of Kangaroo Island is forecast to track east to be near the southern Fleurieu Peninsula by mid morning, then near Bordertown by mid afternoon and in western Victoria by evening.
STORM TO HIT AGAIN TODAY MIDDAY-3PM.
Please like and share this information to ensure the safety of your friends and family, please like this page for regular updates on emergencies in South Australia.
Strong to gale force winds across western and central districts are expected to extend to eastern districts later this morning. These winds are forecast to reach 50-75 km/h with gusts 90-120 km/h. Locally destructive wind gusts up to 140 km/h are possible about the south and west of Eyre Peninsula early this morning.
Damaging winds gusts of 90 to 115 km/h and winds averaging 50 to 65 km/h have been recorded at multiple locations across central and western districts tonight including Ceduna, Coles Point, Port Lincoln, Minlaton and Mount Crawford. The highest wind gusts so far today have been 115 km/h at Ceduna at 12:15 am and 115 km/h at Cummins at 2:58 am, which means they will travel East towards Adelaide Metropolitan.
The power outage was caused last night by damage to 3 transmission lines and 9 electrical towers via a vicious electrical storm that hit Port Augusta around 3:30PM yesterday. The possibility of this same occurrence exist, so residents are warned to stay vigilant, and prepare for the storm and a possible blackout.
Reduced visibility in heavy rain with possible local flooding and gusty winds will make driving conditions dangerous during Thursday in the Adelaide Area.
Locations which may be affected include Adelaide, Port Lincoln, Whyalla, Renmark, Ceduna and Moomba.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Move vehicles under cover or away from trees;
* Secure or put away loose items around your property
* Stay indoors, away from windows, while conditions are severe.
The SA Police advises that people should:
* Slow down and take extra care.
* Maintain a safe distance between you and the vehicle in front.
* Turn on your headlights.

Went for an eerie drive to the hospital last night at 7.30pm. Not one business open including petrol stations. No streetlights or traffic lights.

Have been through isolated power blackouts before, but nothing like this.

A son is staying at Whyalla caravan park and  still no power. Same down in Port Lincoln.

Both running generators for fridges etc.

Our power came back on around 9pm last night.

Expecting more stormy weather soon

Wallaroo Foreshore today and they are not snow capped hills in the background.
Some of the damage to the small jetty was from the last storm. The remainder from this storm.

Went to bed with the threat of rain and storms last night.  Slept the night through and woke to blue skies here.  Not a cloud in sight.  A little breezy is all.
