Title: Cast Iron or Steel for camp BBQ?
Post by JoeBloggs on Feb 9th, 2017 at 10:07am
Hi All,
I've been camping for many years with my father-in-law who has this great cast iron folding camp BBQ. Seems to work really well - non stick and unbreakable.

Only thing is when I try and buy one for myself the only ones I can find are steel, not cast iron. These is the closest I have found to what I'm looking for:

Does anyone have any experience with steel over cast iron? The only time I have used steel before has been some cheap thing from Rays Outdoors that was rubbish and pretty much disposable.

Or does anyone know of a cast iron one?

Many thanks in advance,

Joe

I have seen some home made ones is all.  Go to somewhere like BBQ Galore and buy a cast iron grill plate and a cast iron flat plate and get someone to weld them together and weld on some legs.
