Post by faff on Mar 19th, 2017 at 5:34pm
I've got 2 metters camp ovens and 1 base all marked differently, 12 which has metters 12 on lid, a base that has metters 20 inch on side and a 10 inch that is a bit hard to read but has metters 10 ??? on lid, cant make out last three symbols.

I know nothing about Metters Camp Ovens but where are our resident experts?????  I think though your 10 inch will have "Metters 10 Inch" on the lid rim.

The ten will have "Metters 10 Inch"on it. I have 4 of them. Here is one of the lids sitting on a 14 Metters lid.
I have a friend with a very good condition 20 inch Metters lid if you are interested in selling that base faff.

"metters 10 inch" all good, I,m chasing up a lid for 20 metters, if it doesn't work out always willing to swap for another oven. Base has no cracks or chips, but isn't real flash on inside, had water sitting in it by the looks.

It seems to me that there where a few different way that Metters where branded ,I have a 10" Metters lid clearly marked on the rim of the lid but on the underside of the lid near the peak there is the number 2 clearly moulded

Ive seen and have a few different versions, There are the lids which are marked in this style METTERS "10".......then others that are marked METTERS 10 INCH. This variation seems to apply to most sizes.
Some ovens are marked on the oven its self with METTERS and a size. These ovens are older in my opinion and seem to have chunkier ears on them if compared to the newer ovens with unmarked bases.

Ive seen one like that to Brett. The number inside the lid was completely unrelated to the oven size, I have a photo of it somewhere and will post it up if/ when I find it.
