Title: identify broken oven in the post Post by Angel74 on Jun 26th, 2017 at 4:36pm
Feeling angry ,upset and a little disappointed.
I had 13 inch (not sure on make but discovered has a gate mark) arrive by post today Melbourne / Sydney and its broken cracked , but the seller thought it a good idea to post in an old green shopping bag and that's it. If i had of know he was shipping like this i wouldnt have bothered or said id pay more for a box . Any 1 have any idea what i lost out on? >:( :'( 2017-06-26_16_31_17-1.jpeg (76 KB | ) |

Not sure what it is as I'm not that well read on camp oven history, but that's pretty poor form by the seller to post it so unprotected. Have you contacted them? Might be worth at least trying for a refund

I feel for you :'(
That is pretty poor on the sellers part to post with out padding camp ovens are fragile and heavy If you take some more photos so that we can see more detail I am sure someone on here will identify it for you |

Id be asking for my money back , no one in there right mind would package a camp oven that way and then post it.
As for the Oven, it looks like it had plenty of problems with rust and legs before it suffered in the post. |

Yes it was pretty rusty but was hopeful it might clean up ok if not it was my fault for biting? Yes it only has 1 small foot didnt see the underside at all so i assumed them had been removed or never had them , I new i was taking a risk on the state of it but never did i think he would post in a shopping bag otherwise i wouldn't have bothered .
Update i sent him a message telling him the story and asking politely for a refund no reply as of yet , luckily i paid with paypal and paid the sellers paypal fee because he didnt want paypal so im hoping if he doesnt come through paypal buyer protection might ? |

Thats probably exactly why he didn't want to go through Paypal. Get onto Paypal asap and stop him getting the money.
If you want advice on an oven on ebay before buying, ask here. Im sure many will be happy to give an opinion. Having said that few of us here ever buy ovens from ebay. |

Thanks saltbush, it wasnt ebay but similar gumtree ;) was $20 + postage so not a big loss . In future I might ask how items will be shipped.
