Hi Bear
I have been buying gluten free bickies from Coles. They
have  Scotch fingers, arrowroot, and ginger nut.
So thanks for the info I will have a look.
regards Kev ;)

Very difficult to get good tasty commercially made gluten free products.

Must admit though, the Arnott GF Bickies sure do look nice on the adverts.

Hi Derek
Gluten free does not have a nice taste at any time  I make G/F pancakes every four or five days. We have a feed while they are freshly cooked. I make sure I make a few more and clip bags them and put them into the freezer while they are warm. Once out of the freezer and heated up a little that is the way Lesley likes them.
regards Kev ;)

Kev ...Rosie says any recipe with flour she adds a teaspoon of Xanthan Gum (Coles home brand) which adds elasticity to the mixture and eliminates that bland GF taste and consistency

Dave
Tried that once and no thanks was not impressed Still in pantry.
WE don't cook that much gluten free things due to the fact
it is dried out and then thrown out.
regards Kev ;)

The one good thing about gluten free as opposed to some conditions is that you can still enjoy most fresh foods like vegetables, meats, seafood, eggs, fruits etc.

Remember making gluten free bread for my son when he was growing up and boy was it pretty basic with cornflour as the main ingredient.  There were not the range of gluten free flours available today.

Even the gluten free Helgas breads are very edible however they do contain a high amount of sugars.

Hi Derek

Lesley finds she like the gluten  free bread from Aldi. WE have tried a lot of brands and Aldi is a great bread for the price of $4,
Most time  I toast it for her. She enjoys toast with tomato or I cook toast fried pineapple and  a egg
regards Kev ;)
