Title: Spinifex 10” Camp Oven Post by Derek on Jan 11th, 2023 at 8:28am
Went for a walk through Anaconda yesterday and saw this little 10” camp oven on special.
I have always found Spinifex to be a well made oven and this one is no different. Nice size for a meal for two people with reasonably deep sides and a good length leg. A good buy I thought. 062786CF-08EA-4FB3-883F-B9D95A5E93A1.jpeg (195 KB | ) |

I have a 10 and 12 inch Spinifex and although I have nothing to compare against, I have found both to be functional. Used them at the ACOF last year for a couple of placings in the cooking comp so they must be doing something right. I’ve cooked Bread rolls, Biscuits and few roasts since then and they have produced the goods.

Hi Mal
Ovens from Anaconda are fine, as long as the lid sits flat. I've bought a few there, and always spin the lid to ensure it's a good fit. I'd say your success with cooking would be attributed to the cook's skills rather than the quality of the CO. Aart |

Thank you good Sir! I’m planning my assault for 2024 with as many cooks and ‘experiments’ as possible. There were too many ‘family favourites’ of lamb and chicken. I have a few my uncle used to cook when I was growing up in Longreach - between boarding school and home. Rabbit, yellow belly(golden perch) and the odd ‘road kill’ were very common. I think game meats don’t get enough air play and I still remember a haunch of roo that I turned on a spit for 5 hours with the threat of hungry shearer’s being pissed off if it was too dry or I’d burnt the damned thing. It’s still one of my favourite meats and my lovely wife brings some home if she finds it while shopping (not a coles or woolies).

I am quite fond of roasted goat.
Must be young or nanny. Don't like Billie's. Aart |
