Title: I Scored A Skillet Post by Derek on Oct 9th, 2024 at 12:10pm
The caretaker here at Glenreagh popped over to see how things were going. When he saw that we were into cast iron cooking he asked me if I wanted a skillet.
Someone had left it behind and said they no longer wanted it. Caretaker is on the move soon in a new caravan so he didn’t want it either so now mine. Turned out to be a vintage French Culinaire skillet. 10 1/2 inches across the top and 9 inches across the bottom In perfect condition and very well seasoned. I’m a very happy chappy. Thought I would give the new skillet a run tonight with some fish on the little gas burner outside. I try not to cook fish indoors.
Dusted in flour and just lightly fried in some olive oil. Turned out well. It is well seasoned so non stick IMG_2841.jpeg (88 KB | ) IMG_2842.jpeg (82 KB | ) |
