Title: Got a smoker. Post by TBF on Dec 31st, 2024 at 12:49pm
Lauren and Kris are downsizing so they can travel with their van for a couple of years.
I scored the smoker. Using it first time today. Doing snags and drumsticks. 20241231_124405.jpg (2794 KB | ) |

Temperature and time for both please. Keep your eye open for Aldi special which is a chicken leg hanger. Will see if I can find my box. You may be able to buy on Temu.
My Aldi smoker is the same made under licence. Cheers |

Robert, the legs were 90 minutes at between 120 and 140c. Had some issues holding at a temp. The rub was something I picked up at TKMax a while ago. Smokery flavour was definitely there. Chicken was not dry. |

Robert, the snags were 50 minutes at 120 to 140C.
Could have done with 5 to 10 minutes less. Very smokey, top tasting. |

Thank you found my smoker will not hold below 100/110 which is a bummer.
Was given two rabbits which I have in brine and will smoke to morrow. Keep experimenting mate it is a great hobby .cheers |

For those interested, this is the rub I put on the drumsticks.

Be careful TBF - smokers and rubs are a slippery slope.
Next thing you will be posting your custom hand-made rub recipes... ;) :D ;D |

I'm loving the whole smoking thing. I think I'm on the way to addiction. |

Maggie is not a real big fan of smoked food so something I doubt I will get involved with.
Son-in-law has one so will have to rely on him for my fix. :) |
