Title: Camp Oven Pizza
Post by Rabbitz on Jul 20th, 2025 at 1:41pm
I decided to have a go at pizza in a camp oven, using wraps as the base and following KingBrown's inverted camp oven idea.

As KingBrown says, you have to burn to learn, I had way too much heat under the lid which is acting as the base.  The wraps charred before the cheese was done.

I reduced to coals underneath and then had far better results, although I think I could reduce the heat even further.

Next time I will try with a spun steel camp oven as I think it will be more manageable, plus the reduced heat will penetrate quicker.

I would also save on heatbeads too!

No images were taken as lifting the base on and off while covered in heatbeads took enough effort...

I have a long leg trivet at home that lifts the pizza up and sits it just under the lid.  I am not sure where it came from but it will do a mighty fine pizza.
