Muzz, are they cooked or just marinating???

I like the idea although I am sure I could hear Maggie say, “Not my good merlot again”.  ;D ;D ;D

Also did you take the seeds out of them?

Derek,
One bottle of Shiraz (Aldi)
1 & half cups brown sugar
1 Cinnamon stick
Bring to a boil and let cool for about ten minutes
Add pitted cherries. jobs done.
Tastes great.

Wow, only $16.90 here.  Can get a box of premium cherries 2 kg for $35.

I was at the Golden Circle outlet at Morayfield today.
They had 2 kilo jars of Marachino cherries, stalks on for $7.
Mighty cheap, but what do you do with that many?

Don’t Marachino Cherries last a long time in the liquid though??

Popper drinks, Bundaberg drinks, spices, pasta, pasta sauces, canned and bottled veg and fruits, milk, eggs some frozen goods and much more.
Well worth the trip when you are down this way again.
eg  800 gram pie apples.. $3.50
Same size pears $3
Some stuff is getting close to use by.

We've finished all of the fresh cherries off our trees.

Although Mrs Rabz preserved s few bottles - one lot in port and another in rum and spice syrup.

Getting ready for a mid-winter crumble or two...
