Went down the river this morning for an hour and picked up a few bream. The biggest went 34cm which is my personal PB. Will get a few good fillets off these guys

I had some little prawns in my freezer I had caught while crabbing a couple of months ago so used them for bait.
I'd never filleted a bream before today Ruf, wasn't the easiest fish to fillet, but had it down pat by the time I got to the third one. Normally I just gut them and cook them whole

I was thinking about trying to get a few more tomorrow and making a fish curry for this month's challenge. Though I don't think it would qualify as a stew or casserole

nice bream tad. I am a butcher when l fillet bream, so mine are usually wrapped in foil with some garlic butter then cooked on the bbq. here is a couple of photos of my personal best. it went 46cm and lived to fight another day, much to my mates disgust. sorry for the poor quality photos, they were taken out of my album with my phone.
p.s. these were taken about 12 years ago.

Wow. 46cm is huge! Must've put up a hell of a fight. My next goal is to crack 35cm, then the 40cm isn't too far further

I can't remember the fight to be honest Tad but even the smallest Bream feels huge on light gear. Keep plugging away mate, and you will get 'em.
