Title: Furphy jaffle iron
Post by Chally on Jul 2nd, 2019 at 2:14pm
We picked this little beauty up recently. It will go well with our Furphy double square irons. I look forward to trying it out.

Yeah Bear when I was a kid we had the round alloy ones. We always have our jaffle irons with us on our travels as they are good for cooking up leftovers. We think the granddaughters will enjoy using these new ones as they burn the animal patterns onto the bread.  :)

I was thinking the same, will have to be a bit more observant while traveling. My granddaughter would be wrapped and more cuddles and kisses for pop. Cheers

I have the newer one made in China.  Never could get those imprints looking right on a piece of bread.  [smiley=chef.gif]

Don't know if these are any different Derek but will let you know once we have cleaned them up and cooked with them.

Thanks Derek but right now I can not justify $100 for it. Cheers

It will be interesting to see what it goes for.  Previously seen them up to $280 on eBay.

Not a lot of people know the later ones were from China and not made at Shepparton.

I like a jaffle, and one of those irons look good, and I would not mind having one but I guess I will continue to use me cheep iron I brought 30 years ago. :)

The bread and filling won't know the difference.
Your pocket will.
