Title: More Pissed Plums
Post by Derek on Jul 8th, 2019 at 7:19pm
I have a 4 litre cask of Bertolli Tawny Port (actually near empty now  ;D) that I used to top up my oak port cask and I don’t like keeping them too long after initial opening so today I soaked some Prunes in port.

Couple of months and they will be delicious

Last November I knocked up a large glass as described above, Haven't cracked it yet just wondering what the shelf life is.

Interesting this should pop up today Ron as I found a jar of raisins that have been sitting in port in the back of a cupboard yesterday.

I think they have been there for around 18 months.  Seems to have been no evaporation in that time and no smell from the top of the jar so still well sealed.

I was wondering the same.  How long??

Quite a bit of alcohol in port so should be, I think, well preserved.

Ron, as far as the pissed plums go I have kept them for 12 months and still good.

Might make a fruit cake with mine and then use the syrup over icecream or maybe dribble a little in a black coffee.  ::)
