Hi

The company hosting the last chat board went under and I lost it.  Those members who were here before will need to re-register.

My apologies for that but was out of my control.

Welcome and please enjoy.

Hi Jerry

I am having a bit of trouble with the cursor.  It's currently a very light blue as blue was the standard color of the Yabb Board.  Working on it.

G'day Derek.
At the moment it seems everyone is away using their camp ovens, very quiet on this board!
We have just come back from a few days camping/fishing in the Bingara area, now getting nice and warm.
When the fire season is on we still manage to use the camp oven, I made up a "fire pot" out of an old S/S washing machine bowl, on 4 legs, only light up late evening and with a quite small fire easily cook one of our favorites, lamb chops, chopped onions, tin of tomatoes (chopped) plenty of fresh rosemary (we have a hedge of it!) garlic, fresh red chilli (always on hand) basil if available and a good dash of lambrusco (and a glass for the cook) Wink
Only takes around 30 mins., serve up with a ring of spiral pasta around it, couple more glasses lambrusco, aint this livin? Smiley

G'day Derek.
Sometimes I just cant work out some of these outdoor/camping cooks.
A couple of years ago was camped at Woolli on the NSW coast. The van park provided some excellent little fireplaces and free wood to use. I lit my fire, settled back with a cold one waiting for some decent coals to cook on when I spotted smoke (like serious smoke) coming from the top vents of a nearby pop top van. Thinking it was about to go up in smoke (and flames) at any minute I rushed over to see what help I could give. "Whats the problem, mate?" came the laconic reply from the van, "we've just put the roast on in the electric frypan, she always makes a bit of smoke on start up!"
During the next three or four days similar things happened. Sometimes makes you wonder why people bother about a holiday away from home, eh?
cheers    mikel
