A few more of some of the tracks where my 4wd's took me.

Even though my xtrail is quite capable of sand/steep tracks, I have lost the nerve to tackle even the simple tracks now.

Probably because I don't have recovery gear or the backup of others when I travel.

Great photos Rick.  The only thing I will miss by not having a 4X4 is the beach travel.  There is something nice about a trip along a beach.

There is nothing sweeter than cruising along a beach with no other traffic. Just need to pick the right beach if travelling solo.

Seeing that you showed some interest Derek, I will post more when I come across them  Smiley

Found a few more from my 4wding days. Low resolution pics from an old photo bucket account.

First one is from Point Riley (not far from shackles). Was always looking for some sort of track when I got my first 4wd.

Last photo is from Shell Hill, not far from our last cog at John Christian Reserve.

Just stumbled across this old thread and thought I'd share some photos of our "going out" 4x4. It's a 2013 Holden Colorado. I got it for Korinne about 10 months ago after our 2001 Pajero started falling apart at the seems. We ( I ), loved the Colorado as soon as  we saw it, as it was set  up exactly how we would have liked to have done it ourselves, without the work and extra cost. I also have my old girl,  a 1992 Toyota Hilux 4x4 that is just to reliable to part with and great for collecting firewood and exploring new or the rougher tracks in. While she isn't really easy on the eye, she has never broken down or left me stranded in the 15 years that I have owned it. I don't think that I will ever buy another 2wd vehicle again.

Its not burnt. Just really well done.
