Wow mikel, I went thru your list twice to see if there's any thing you've forgotten and I don't think so. I carry all the basic recovery gear including a 9000lb winch and Snatch'em strap and more often than not use it to get others out of strife, aaahhh its hard being a good samaritan.

Tyres are my main worry, I can only carry one spare wheel and several times have limped into some out back town with tyres on their last legs and no spare. Sure I carry all the repair stuff, extra tubes etc and an air compressor but when you've had two blow-outs you know you're in trouble. The next big trip I think I'll carry a spare case on the bull bar.

Better go and get some beauty sleep, I sure need it .       Rob.

When I die I hope my missus doesn't sell my camp ovens  for what I told her I paid for them. pd

PD.
After I wore out my one finger that does the typing I realised that I forgot the high lift jack (an absolute essential) and compressor (but that is included in "sundries")
We are fully packed to leave in the morning, and with apology to L_K, may not get a pic. on before we get away.
Orf on a bit of an excursion, business and pleasure. This means that I will not be posting for a little while, so to all of you'se blokes and blokessess going to the Millmerrin C/O turnout hope you all meet up, have a terrific weekend, share some yarns and a few quenching ales.
Keep the smoke outa your eyes, mikel

Hi all, my weapon of choice is a fairly stock 97 cruiser. All that has been added to this rig are a 12000 lb winch, Auscar safari wheels fitted with BF Goodrich AT's, A uniden uhf and an engel fridge. Hopeing to lift and lock it in the near future if I can convince the mnister for war and finance to approve funding lol.

Not meaning to jump on the band wagon, but mine's a 75 series as well. It's a 1987 5 seat Troopy with 400,000 Km on the original engine and still as tight as a drum. Smiley
While I'm not fitted out as well as Mikel, I have built a false floor in the back which takes 5 large plastic boxes neatly slid underneath. I can fit a massive amount of gear if travelling as a family or going up into the hills with a few mates.
In after market gear I've got: a 9000lb winch on steel bullbar, generic driving lights, full recovery kit incl high lift jack, roof rack (which is in the backyard at the moment as it sucks up too much fuel), duel batteries, wired for a fridge and internal lights, cd player with good speakers, tinted windows and an old cb radio that needs updating to a uhf.
It's got a bit of skin cancer, but is very reliable and gets me wherever I want to go.
