Hi All
Most times in the bush as you are aware  we are stuck with a tinned food source and the following recipe is a tried and true top feed when all you have is the standby tinned grub.

- 3x410g tins braised steak and vegetables or simular
- 1x425g baked beans in rich tomatoe sauce
- 1x750g  tin of tiny potatos
- 2x535g tins big and chunky beef stockpot
- 1x420g tin four bean mix
- 1 pkt french onion soup
- 250g rice
- 1 tin sausages
- salt & pepper
- onion flakes generous sprinkle
- Garlic granules to taste
-  ground ginger powder to taste
- Keens traditional curry powder to taste

a pack of heat beads
12" cast iron camp oven

Start cooking the stew about 3 hours before eating
Cut up and place the sausages into your preheated oven and brown while stirring
Open all of the tins and add them to the mix including the juices
Add a generous pinch of the condiments
Sir every now and then
After about an hour sprinkle in the packet of french onion soup
mix and halve the rice and a bit more of the seasoning to taste
Stir and the stew should be starting to thicken up nicely
Boil the rest of the rice seperatly and serve it with the cooked stew

Enjoy
Cheers Furphy
