Hi all
a simple but favorite biscuit recipe that I have been using for years
2 cups self raising flour
1 cup sugar
1 cup butter
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 handful sultanas
enough milk to make a stiff mixture

mix butter and sugar add beaten eggs and vanilla add sultanas and flour and mix into a stiff mixture with milk then placd large tablespoons full of mixture onto a tray and place in camp oven and cook until lightly brown about 15 min

You can substitute sultanas for any of your favorite dried fruit etc and you can add coconut etc
Cheers Furphy

picky picky

LK all you have to do is cast your eyes slowly along your arm until you reach the broad flat part just before your fingers.
you then fold your fingertips about a 1/4 of the way back towards that flat part and fill the hollow area that you have created.

You then have what is known as a handful  Grin Grin Grin Roll Eyes

God I'm helpful

Lk

Usually a dash is the amount that best suites your taste and can range from a pinch of something through to a teaspoonful if it doesnt work toss it out to the furry panlicker and try again Cheesy

Grin

& the poor dish licker if that is a chili recipe.

Actually, for biscuits, waffles, pancakes and such, I pretty well know what to measure by dash or shake, except for the flour.  But for chili, I use dried chili flakes rather than chili powder and make enough to 'can' or put in mason jars.  & over time the chili taste 'improves.'

This hit or miss measuring method can bring you unstuck especially when using things like curry or chill powder that has been on the shelf for awhile and lost its punch. Next time you use a double quantity only to find that your missus topped it up with fresh powder.   Grin

When I die I hope my missus doesn't sell my camp ovens  for what I told her I paid for them. pd

Chili flakes are more consistent for flavour.  Also, they age well, especially after you've made the 'dish'.

When I say 'improve', I mean have more zip!!
