Thought I would try my hand at putting together a few words of poetry to start things off here.

Friends

When friends all meet as they often do
Out there among the bush
And take time out to stop and yarn
As old friends often should

The dancing flames and shining coals
Of campfires often glow
A beacon pointing out the way
To friends of long ago

And if by chance you take a look
I'm sure that you will spy
A blackened well used oven
Cooking damper near the fire

A cup of tea to wash it down
While words of praise go out
Of damper, stews and other things
that ovens seem to sprout

For never yet can it be said
That cooking in the town
Can best the old camp oven
When friends all gather round

Well its a start
Cheers Furphy

When I die I hope my missus doesn't sell my camp ovens  for what I told her I paid for them. pd

Wazza, another example

One 5 syllables
Make two 7 syllables long
And 3 is 5 too.

'K?

Shocked

Sort of make each line a thought of itself.

Lips Sealed

Smiley Furphy, you bring tears to my eyes! I can't write poetry but I can appreciate it ( when I understand it). Reminds me of when we used to go camping so as to have a cookout. Your poetry on ovens is surely unique and heart touching to those of us who have been blessed by the angel of the bush.

Furphy, He's almost all Canuck.  He grew up stateside just as I did.  We are on a few forums, often hanging out at the Canuck section.  I claim all credit for passing on the links.

Elsewhere you asked about my forte.

Well, go to the biggy, www.rv.net ; *   go to forums, at the top of a page you should see advanced search.  Under author put in "Little Kopit" and check out a few of my 'encourage people to want to come here' (esp. Newfoundland and Labrador)  posts.  There is also the series on the Nova Scotia situation, which some people are on the opposite side of reality from me.  CJV is a member, but you'd have to read a fair bit to pick him out.    The Camp Cooks and ...  has some stuff on Dutch Ovens and Cast Iron.  I usually check that out.

Oh and check this out too:  http://www.rv.net/forum/index.cfm/fuseaction/thread/tid/18459554.cfm   Lake Keepit
Flinders Range of Mountains - South Australia

http://www.intcoa.com/coppermine/thumbnails.php?album=60&page=1  Too small or I need to change settings on how I view.  I may forget to make those links clickable.  They are taken from notes I made to say something to PD when he gets back.  They were going to go to that  one before Millerman.

Then there is www.rvlivin.com .  I rather like the management there.  At the moment they are my site for casual photo hosting.  We have a rather nice bunch of Canucks who are visible there.  I think we have our lurkers too.  DLHaynes, Dana, who can throw a good pun or two in a whole bunch of blarney, designed the logo patch for us.  He also is a D.O. cook (fulltimer)

& I go over to www.irv2.com also, mostly the Canuck group.  I've known the mod. there for about 2.5 years.

I have two in the UK I'm going back to after I get through some personal and work hurdles.  I kind of gave them up for eagles and osprey.

Now, I'm also hanging out at:  http://discuss.hancockwildlifechannel.org/index.php  David Hancock who owns, etc. Hancock House, is a biologist who has been working on wildlife awareness for close to if not 40 years.  Once upon a time he was married to a lass by the name of Lyn.  You might remember There's a Seal in My Sleeping bag by Lyn Hancock.  He was the moving force that brought the Hornby and Saanich Eagles to live web cams with daily hits of up to 4 mil or more on the web cam site.  This forum is  an off shoot.  I'm watching the Brisbane Perigrine Falcons and igorning the other raptors.  Regretfully.

OH, yes, on the daily checklist is IDOS.  www.idos.org , then go to forums. PD, Derek, Doc Opa, Jerry and I all go there.

I also moderate on a very little rving supply store related forum.

& from time to time I go to others, Garden Web, Canadaka.net, and some other fluff run by souls I've met elsewhere.

That'll give you something to while away the hours until you exhaust your antibiotics.

Cool
