Hi I love camping and love cooking.

I have just found out about the Camp Oven Festival and am very sad I missed it!!!!

What other events, groups, functions are coming up?

I am a member of a 4wd club.

Cheers

Hi miss mermaid. No one rushing to greet you so I will say hello or in my vernacular, "g'day"
Hope you glean some useful info. from the forum, camp ovens are certainly making a comeback but doubt I could afford the prices being paid for some of the vintage ones.
However, its often not what you cook it in, but how you go about it. As I have previously mentioned the best stew I can remember eating came out of a square 4gal. honey tin (or it could have been kero!) Roll Eyes

G'day MissMermaid, sorry you missed Millmerran, it was terrific, I have already booked for 2008. The next CO Festival I am aware of will be at Casino next October so mark that in your social calendar. They had their first one last year with over 300 vehicles camping plus day visitors and it was very good, shows COs are gaining popularity, no wonder good old ones are becoming so hard to find.

When I die I hope my missus doesn't sell my camp ovens  for what I told her I paid for them. pd
