I raised this subject one time before but does anyone know any history about the old foundries like C.C. Harding and Son. Ballarat, Albion, Metters and Falkirk. Where they were, when they closed their doors etc. I have ovens from all these makers and would like to know more and in spite of searching the internet I can't find anything.

PD

The Albion were made at a foundry in Maryborough Qld.  I did try and find out about it once.  Even went to the historical society but they didnt have to much on it either.

Do you know I saw a Falkirk once that was in real good condition for about $60 and I walked away from it because I had never heard of them before.

Stupid bugga I am.  Was at the same place where I saw a 12 Furphy that I am still kicking myself over.  It was $125.

Derek. Last year I contacted the Historical Society in Ballarat to see what they could tell me about several foundries that had worked in that general area, they tried to help but had next to nothing. To me that says that all this information about the past is gone or going; same as old cast iron ovens !!!
