Recieved this recipe via my website the other day and it looked that good I just had to bake it.

INGREDIENTS

2 Cups SR Flour
1 Teaspoon baking powder
3 teaspoons sugar
200 gms sultanas
Bottle ginger beer

METHOD

Mix dry ingredients well.  Put 300 ml ginger beer into a bowl and mix in dry ingredients spoon ful by spoonful until you have a dry sticky dough.  Place into a loaf pan (aluminium one is fine).  Put pan into pre-heated camp oven and bake for 20 minutes.

Here is my first try

Hi Derek
Found your recipe on another site. I had to give the Painter someting quick and easy for morning tea.  had all the ingredients available so thought I'd give it a go. Whipped it up in a flash and thought it was great. We spread it with butter straight out of the oven and wasn't much left over.

I tried the recipe today, only used 250ml of ginger beer as I like a drier mix and soaked the sultanas in the GB for a few hours prior to cooking. Served it up to visitors for afternoon tea and like Ronnie there wasn't any left.

I also make a similar one, but cheat a bit.
Put all the ingredients into the bread maker, but on the "dough program"
Then into a small 8" cooker I have and then in the Kamado oven (can be found on a prev. post of mine)
Bloody good stuff.
Also do similar with pitted chilli olives, even gooder!!
cheers mikel
