After a quiet but great few days over Christmas, the missus took the dog for a walk this afternoon along the river.
Just settled into the first beer of the day around 4.30 and get a phone call.

"I have slipped over in the mud (we have had 6" of rain since Christmas day) and think I have broken my wrist."

So I ignore my beer, jump in the ute and head down to her.
Wrist is swollen and looks bad so ring ambulance.
Ambulance comes, off to hospital.
Me 2 cars and dog to get home.
Inlaws come and drive 1 car and I take dog and other home then go to hospital.
5 hours later after operation, wrist bones are wired back together.
I get home and beer is hot and flat.

Guess who will be doing all the housework for the next 6 weeks ?????

There goes my trip next week, but at least we are all still in one piece and that is what matters most.
I have had the Old Girl for 29 years and am a bit used to having her around

Oh Soot, Happy New Year to you and yours!!!!!!!

Huh

What with a bum foot, I go down 'poof' with the smallest of unsuspected slippery spots, I am most sympathetic to your DW.

I also know another lass (electroniclally speaking) who broke her wrist and required several pins.  That was a couple of weeks ago and the original doctors are pleased with her progress.  They are even letting her keep to plan A, which is to go south to Florida for January to April and have physiotherapy there.

We will look forward to lots of pics of hunger inducing meals in your CO.

Undecided

Hey Sooty,
I hope she is on the mend. And all is well at the Sooty station. With all that house work to do there won't be enough time to have a news years drink.

Struth Sooty, this is not good, you realize of course that once you start doing all those jobs around the place it's almost impossible to go back to how it was before ?

My sympathy to your missus, I broke my wrist years ago and have several pins in it, they are never the same again, it gives me heaps.

BTW I hope you didn't tip that warm beer out, ya coulda used it in a damper LOL.

Well the boss is home, wrist all wired up, plaster to elbow and reclining in luxury.
Nothing wrong with the tongue though, giving plenty of orders.            Smiley

So there am I with mop in one hand, vacuum cleaner in the other, a floor polishing cloth under each foot slipping around cleaning.
She says
" If ya got the feather duster you could dust as you go"

Me says " how the bloody hell am i going to do that, stick it in me gob?"

She " no I dusted the tops the other day it's the stuff lower down that needs doing"

Dunno what she meant by that ?????? Smiley

No PD I just put it back in the fridge and drank it later

I started out with nothing and still have most of it
