Glad you liked the sourdough starter, Carolyn!

Yep, we have red hatters here also and traveling groups, too, but I'm a few years shy of that level (would have to wear a pink hat for a few more years).   Not as many years as I'd like, and from the gray that I have to color every couple of months, I'm betting I could easily "pass" if I wanted to, which I don't!  LOL

Today, when I went shopping with my girls (ages 13 and 10), THEY decided it was time and even picked out that little box of color for me!     Shocked

I'm going to have to go make a Meez for myself, as I've seen them on a bunch of forums now, and they're just so cool!

Hi Carolyn,

Can you tell me what size camp oven you use in the Cobb and how long did the loaf take to cook.

Cheers

Thanks to LK, C, & mrs.Miik for your tips on this bread style.
Have been doing a little experimentation and finding that for me the best result/min. effort bread in the C/O is one based on lager beer and S/R flour.
It is probably no more than a well aerated damper, but with the yeast background coming from the beer.
I knew alcohol was good for something, eh! Wink

Hi Derek

Thanks for the welcome back, we got back around the 18th december had the family around for christmas back to work for a week and a half then took off to Patonga for a week with the grandchildren, arrived  home this morning.

Managed a rack of lamb with vegies in  the camp oven and curried chicken while away, hubby has also moved our BBQ with wok burner from the back of the house to the side next to our kitchens sliding doors, think I may be cooking with gas in future with my camp oven.

Next planned holidays Canada in June, but then again we may take a break in about March.

Cheers
Kate
