Old paint tin or coffee tin works great. Tried mine out on the weekend lighting on a little gas burner and worked fantastic. No smoke and had the bricks firing in no time.

Hey Robbo,
I was lighting mine off my ring burner too, until the ash kept clogging my burner up, The fire lighters are the way to go.

Good point Mick.
I was burning them to the point where the bottom bricks were red and flaming then taking them off and letting the flames do the rest for the ones on top and getting little ash, but I suppose over time even a little ash may cause problems. I've just found that firelighters don't seem to last long enough.
Then again I'm probably just too impatient.

Tah for the tip
Robbo
