Had a great find last thursday I was out and about stopping at a few of my favourite junk shops etc, an i was fortunate enough to come across three gems. First stop i came across these Drovers pots and mugs in their original leather cases which I think are just great, and i'm sure they would have some great stories to tell. On my second stop I went to a shop that I always stop at when i'm passing through, and they tend to have a bit of cast iron lying around the shop. The women in the shop mentioned to me that she had a little camp oven out the back that she had'nt oiled and was yet to put on display. I asked her if I could have a look at it, and then she brought out an 8 inch metters oven in absolutely fantastic condition. The asking price was $180 and I did'nt even bother to try and bargain I think that was a good price for an oven that is pretty hard to come by. Here's a couple of shots of what I consider to be a great day on the road.

Nice find Astroboy, I am suitably envious, I have never seen an 8" Metters before. I bought a nice 10" at Christmas time at Katoomba, $80, it wasn't 'til I got it home and started cleaning it up I found a hairline crack down one side. I had it welded up and have been using it and it seems OK. I was really p***** off that I didn't notice it in the shop, I'm the one always saying "Buyer beware !"   lol

Very nice find indeed.  Congratulations on your purchases.  Sounds like you know a few great shops.

Know a few great shops   ??  Nah violetmay, when you have castironitis you never never ever drive past a school fair, country market, Antiques and Old Wares shop or a garage sale, not often you score but when you do it makes it all worthwhile. Like they say, "It's all in the thrill of the chase".
