Hi all!

I'd like to say thank you to Derek for posting a link to the camp-cook website. This forum was one of the main inspirations that got me thinking about starting a camp cooking discussion group wayyyy up here in North America.  Grin I've spent a bit of time on this forum and looking through varioius Australian camping websites. One thing for certain, you guys know how to camp! And you know how to cook!

I saw the posts about the term "Yank" and speaking for myself, I would never be offended by someone from Austrailia, New Zealand, England, etc referring to us as "Yanks". That's been a common term since WWII. Now if you live in the states and start calling someone down south a Yank you might be on thin ice.  Grin

And yes, the Americans welcome the Aussies with open arms. I think it might have something to do with our "wild west" history that seems to closely parallels your outback history. (although most of us have no real idea of the history of the outback, we like to compare the two).

Anyway, I need to get outside and start doing some work.

Joanne

Hi Joanne,
welcome and I am enjoying your site. There is some very good & interesting reading in there and I will be stopping off often for a look.
I'm sure I own a little bit of the strip in Lost Wages. A great place that ,especially the free Bloody Mary Fountains.

All the best
