In all of the camping shops you visit around Brisbane has anyone seen new Furphy Camp Ovens for sale.

"No", but that is possibly because we dont often go to Brisbane!

But did see 2 in a shop in Warwick last week, and they are in all the camping shops in NSW.

Obviously made in China (dump lid handle), rough as guts in the finish, poor fitting lids, I reckon old man Furphy would be quite troubled if he could see these.

Bit like some of the wineries we visited recently, production capacity miles in excess of the vinyard. When queried, the response is that it is more economical to have other growers produce the grapes for us to turn into wine.
Puts a new meaning into "varietal"

Aussie Disposals in Toowoomba sell them. 12" $115, 14" $145. Looks like you are paying extra for the Furphy name on a chinese lid. Wogboy. Shocked Undecided Embarrassed

Buy a couple at those prices wb, bury them in the backyard for a few months to "age" them then put'em on eBay and double your investment. While you're at it do the same with some Furphy jaffle irons, they always do well on eBay.   LOL

Derek I have seen the new Furphy's in a lot of shops on the Sunshine Coast. I can account for 4 stores without even trying. Camping Country at Maroochydore always has some good stock of all the sizes & the Jaffle irons.

All the best
