Hi all

I have an ad in the local trader "Wanted-Camp Ovens" Got a reply tonight, A bloke has an "Arro" Camp oven, He said it's old and ridgy-dige but I have never heard of them. I was on my mobile phone and conversation/details where sketchy. I have to wait until Sunday to inspect...... and no doubt buy. He wants $70 for it. I was wondering if any one else has heard of these ovens?

Regards

Jono

Jono, I had a thought about that camp oven, it is possibly a "Carron" camp oven. I have a couple of lids and the markings are quite hard to make out, so I could see how someone could think it says arro.

G'day Astro,

Say that it is a Carron CO and in OK condition, is $70 a fair price?
Are they any good?

Cheers

Jono

Jono

I think that any old cast iron oven in good condition under $100 today is a steal.

Here's a photo of the 10" Carron lid I reckon that yours is definitely a Carron the marking and lettering appear to be the same, What do you think?

Yep, with you on that Astro, Definitely a Carron. Have you only got lids? I think the bits where the bail connect would be a dead give away if some one has a full oven to compare. Thanks Astro

Jono I found a 12" base today at home, it looks very similar to that base of yours particularly the legs not sure about the ears. What do ya reckon could be the same maker???????
