Just thought I better let the fellow fishers know that I will be offline for six days as of tomorrow. I know you will be disappointed but I have to fly to Darwin and spend two days on the turps there, then fly out to Dundee Beach for a three day fishing safari. Barra in the Finiss river the 1st day, Barra in the river mouth the 2nd day then out to the reef to chase pelagic's on the last day. If I am sober enough I will try and get some pics of my epic trip. Sorry about the post but I just had to gloat.

Yeah, good on ya' Dunga.
A few of the guys here in Townsville have been getting some nice GT's off the jetty in town, one of them was a good 3 foot long & I'd guess @ 8-10Lb along with 2 smaller ones about half that size (they will probably get bigger the next time I tell the story Grin) & I'm stuck here with a $30 telescopic rod I bought so I could take it back on the plane Undecided Undecided although I have managed to catch some small fingermark & a couple of cod (a first for me)
Sorry, will remember to take the camera down with me next time, the jetty is only about 200M from where I'm staying on the strand.

Mick.

Hope you enjoy the break Dunga, Good time for up there(not too hot) I fish the Roper River a bit and can say there is something a bit special about catching Barra. There are fish that fight better but don't give the adrenalin rush.

If you get a chance try and get some Cherabin and cook them up- they are to die for mate. Up at the Roper they hang out under the pandanus roots and at times are thicker than fleas on a robbers dog.

Wish it was me going. Smiley

Are you going with Alex Julius? Smiley

All the best

Hey Dunga

Look out for those snapping handbags.
Don't want to read about you.
