Aunty Joans apple crumble

Large tin of apples sweetened with sugar brown or white
Place in a greased bowl, then make the crumble recipe as follows, place the crumble on top of the apples then bake for about 30-40mins or until golden brown in moderate oven.

CRUMBLE RECIPE -
1/2 cup brn sugar
1 cup sr flour
125g butter
Rub in together until it becomes a crumbly mix.

This will make 2 lots like the pic... Half to make 1 lot..

Thanks CD
I bet it tastes as good as it looks.
Apple Crunble sure is a camp cooking pleaser.
Haven't seen many people turn their noses up at it.

Hey CD, just thought I would try this apple crumble.  Third time using heat beads and first time using "cake" tin.

Delicious!  Added a few stewed fresh apples as my tin of pie apples was only small.   Smiley  New trick learnt:  how to get tin out of CO!

...

This dish has gone down in Barb's Camp Oven History!
A huge winner with Papa Bear!

Thanks
Barb

Tried Aunt Joan's recipe a couple of day ago..
Don't have a photo, coz it didn't last long enough.
Enjoyed by one and all.

I did add a teaspoon of cinnamon to the apple.
Also a 1/2 cup of desicated coconut to the crumble.

As for yours TWO BEARS... any left?  Smiley

Hey Barb for an inside tip. If you really want Papa Bear to do tricks for you, drizzle a little honey over the crumble, he will go murkadoo over that & you know bears will do anything for a bit of honey.

Well cooked Barb & not overdone.

Thanks for sharing

The problem is stopping at one serving - well that didn't happen!

The smell of cooking in the CO is something I had not bargained on - not sure if it is the heat beads, the oil or the food - but it sure is great!

This time of the year is superb 22C. We haven't bought a BBQ as Papa Bear and baby bear get bitten alive, just might have to be up to Mama Bear to cook (aw shucks!).  I might start another thread on mossie control.
