Can anybody help me out with a closeup photo of a chimney heatbeat lighter.
I am the owner of a substabtial sheet of stainless steel and a son who is a sheety.
My intention is to put a couple of these together.

Just need a photo with detail of the handle area and one of the base.
Thanks on anticipation guys and gals.

Thanks Derek
That will help me greatly
Total cost should be about 50 cents each.
I have everything at hand except some Tassie Oak handles.

I know you have the s/s sheet but I made up several out of secondhand 160mm s/s flue and pop riveted handles on with a heat shield same as in Derek's pics, very easy !
I gave one to a mate who drilled more holes around the top and sits his skillet on there and cooks while his heat beads are lighting up.

When I die I hope my missus doesn't sell my camp ovens  for what I told her I paid for them. pd

PD

A piece of flue would have been dead easy..
No rivetting required to form the cylinder.

Thats a great idea PD.  You could probably get off to a quick start and brown the onions and meat that way.

Well I was having a lot of trouble getting a smooth bed on that sheet of stainless steel.
Just happened to be going past BBQ Galore at Aspley this morning.
Couldn't help myself, had to buy one off the shelf.
It will probably last as long as I will.
