Hey all, i see that Supercheap now sell campovens. Anyone had a look at one? Probably not the best product, but "a poor tradesman blames his tools" right? They are about 60 bucks from memory.

Supercheap/BCF are the same company.  The ones I have seen in BCF of late do not have legs so imagine Supercheap would be the same.

I would look for one with legs and yep they will cook pretty good anyway.

I do like an oven with legs but as someone pointed out to me a cupla weeks ago on here it doesn't really matter, use a stand or a tripod.......

Mmmmmm ...I still prefer one with legs !!

I'm shopping today so will have a  look at Supercheap.

I think you'll get the bag, trivett and hook for that sort of money as well.
They aren't pretty, but you'll never taste the difference in the curry or stew.
UNLESS YOU BURN IT.. Grin

Forget the legs, they are a hinderence when traveling!!!
use 3 stones instead, or none at all if you have good coals!
In fact I have never used any kind of trivet or stones & all but one of my ovens are legless & work just fine!
My 2 bobs worth!
Mick.

Thats what I started out with, the old Thommo special from BCF, came with Trivet and lid lifter. Have made a little stand to use in lieu of legs and works a treat.
May be cheap but it is still a CI CO, a bit like shoes, Nike is a good brand but you can still run in cheap Vollies (not that I do any runnign these days). I say go for it. Gets you started.
