Thanks for all the reports and photos to date.  Have been as busy as a blue arsed fly since I got home.

Camper is still up in the front yard and been off to work first thing and getting home after dark.

Haven't even had a chance to download the pics off my camera.

I think it has been said before, but these gatherings are just so great.  Getting to meet people with such diverse backgrounds yet with a common interest in camp oven cooking.  The comradeship is fantastic.

We did learn one thing and that is that we need to be more organised with our cooking.  We all cooked far to much food and there was just too much wastage.  Next COG we need to look at a cooking roster.

We even discussed limiting people to 10" ovens but that went down like a lead fart, particularly with the guys with the big Billmans.   Grin Grin

Thank you again for everyone who turned up.

For me another highlight was seeing a pair of Red-Winged Parrots.  Although not uncommon this is only the second time in my life I have come across them.  Photo below

Couple pof pics.

First one shows the mud around the camp fire (Note the small camp oven front left is a genuine old 10" Furphy.  Second is of our host (Note the can in his hand)  Third one shows a mix of old and new camp ovens around the fire

Today I am starting to return to normal, the kidneys are well flushed snd sleep time replenished.
Attending Jonno's Hedlow COG was like running a marathon, long sessions of intense activity with short rest periods.
Would I do it again?
YES Tomorrow.

Sincere Thanks To:

Jonno,
For the work you put in, bloody well done mate. a great turnout and it was good to see your young mates get involved. Your wonderful Lucy for all you did over the weekend.

Skip,

For a big drive, your gift's, cooking with gas and friendship.
Kade, for riding in True Blue with me and reminding me of how I was some years ago.

Derek (The Principal),

Without you these gatherings would never have happened. Shame about the Waco but we survived. Great to finally meet you.
Your memento will always be treasured.

Mikeo,

Good to meet you and taste your CO creations.

Aart,

For the garlic prawns, the friendship, and bugger all else.

Robbo,

For the mirror, drinking half my bourbon and smoking half my smokes.
Thanks for bringing your lovely wife Toni and the little princess.

THE KIDS,

They had a ball in the mud and provided much entertainment for us all

Thanks again to all who made the effort to attend and your welcome to my first COG,
Kev

Would be fine if you had a boat to get there.  Better make that a house boat cause when you do get there I doubt there will be much land to set up a tent.  Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

Hi Derek
Yes I also find the old stories are a great read. I think a lot of people are here for a while and then find and move onto another interest.
regards Kev Wink
