We have a swap meet on here in Wagga tomorrow. Last year I turned up bright and early on the sunday morning to be told by those that were selling "old" chinese ovens that you should have been here yesterday, I had some beauties. So I went a day early this time and picked up this little gem. 13 inch cc harding co. Any info on the foundry would be appreciated. I know its not super old as the phone number has 6 digits as well as an area code. took a couple of pics so you can see the condition it is in pre-cleaning up. It has some light surface rust but no pitting. I will have to replace the dodgy handle with a more sturdy one but thats about it.

Top buy Shane.  Good one.

PD has a couple of them from memory.  They only stopped production a short while ago.  That's a nine digit phone number and I am not sure when the current ten digit numbers came out.

I was still living down there last year and also missed out at that swap meet.

You did well dunga, they are a good oven, I have an 11" and it is my favourite pot.
Hardings closed their doors about 1999, they were an old foundry and couldn't meet Workcover safety requirements. I'd guess your oven would've been made sometime in the 90's.
I buy 6mm s/s rod to make up bails, it looks good and doesn't pull in and touch the lid when you lift your oven off the fire
Did you see any other CI ovens at the meet ?
Er, BTW what did you pay for it ?

When I die I hope my missus doesn't sell my camp ovens  for what I told her I paid for them. pd

only saw one other PD, It was about a 12 inch. Pretty sure it was a metters base, checked underneath and the legs were right shape and all. The thing was that pitted you couldnt make anything out around the lip of the lid and it had a crack in it. $75 was the asking price.......see you. Picked up the harding for the princely sum of $90. Couldnt get the wallet out quick enough.
