T S Sheldon are an old English Foundry but not in Wolverhampton but they certainly did make camp ovens according to this website.  http://www.localhistory.scit.wlv.ac.uk/Museum/metalware/general/sheldon.htm

Seems odd that they are saying it is new.  Certainly not Australian that I am aware of but definitely a nice piece of cast iron.  Wink

Who is going to make the first bid.   Roll Eyes

Just got an email.  It was made in England.  Age unknown (although believed old) but seems unused and in perfect condition

Not sure what this one will go for as it is actually unique.  I would say its been in a display somewhere.  The gold is actually painted on.

Not sure if I will bid or not but I'll be watching it.

I sent the guy a email coz the company i work for has a offic in north sydney, he told me this

Hi..yes no prob..drive straight thru Nth Syd & have some biz there while in Syd..Now I bought this here in Melbourne..I believe it came from an estate..Because it has obviously never been used I have assumed it was new but having done a bit of research T Sheldon & Co were bought out by Sankey's sometime during the latter part of the nineteenth century..I have only just listed & have requested some archival info from Wolverhampton but am starting to think it is a nineteenth century camp oven in mint condition...Will add moreinfo to listing as it comes to hand but I believe there is some value in this piece as a Collectors item to say nothing of its culinary promise..
