Jono and Sooty

I had some spare birthday money left over.
Back to Anaconda this morning on the way to work and got another Lewis & Clark
12 inch this time.. Its got the canoe on the lid.

I think I have that problem we all talk about.

Hi Mick,
In the aftermath of the Flood here in Feb we had numerous relatives and  friends etc help us clean up and pack stuff away. To say if was a madhouse at the time is an understatement. Months later we are still getting people bringing things back that they took home to clean up for us.

Still waiting for the 2 boxes of CD's ,  300 odd CD's to appear and my  old wooden CO box with a 12 " Furphy and a 14" old  unmarked CO that my Dad had for 20 years and gave me in 1978.
I think but am not sure if someone said I will take these and clean them up for you or they were thrown out by mistake by one of our helpers who probably thought they were rubbish  Cry  Cry  Cry
I have given up hope of ever getting these back so I am looking to replace them.  Angry Sad

Just thinking Sooty, if you ever came across your ovens again would you recognise them ?

I have put tags on my pots with s/s wire but they would be easy to remove with a pair of sidecutters. Looking at one of my second hand pots a couple of days ago I noticed it has three file nicks in the rim of the lid and on one leg of the pot, not so easy to remove or explain away and not very noticeable unless you're looking for them, just a thought.

When I die I hope my missus doesn't sell my camp ovens  for what I told her I paid for them. pd

PD, I probably not recognize them tho I am sure the smell of the last meal I cooked in the Furph would, my garlic curried sausages leave a smell never forgotten in more ways than one { more so next day}

I asked Dad last night where he got the old unmarked oven, He is a bit vauge as he had a stroke 3 weeks ago.
He says his Dad had it on the Cobb and Co run from Surat to St George  in the 1940's  :'
I am devastated having lost this priceless piece if this info is correct., although the lack of maker markings has me confused if it was as old as he claims  Cry

Have always marked my tools with special file marks so can't see why it won't work for CI

It will already be seasoned so just a clean to get the dust off and use it.

Well done Kev
You must have great negotiation skills to get the management to see your point of view.
Remember the obligatory photos mate.

Have received my order from Anaconda at Logan, but am disappointed.
Despite the invoice quoting "12" with Canoe on lid" I got the 14" with DO14 on the box. The quoted price was also dearer.
Rang them and it depends on who you speak to as to how they measure them.
Am now waiting for Ben to return from holidays to sort it out, seems no 12" now available despite being assured they were in stock when I ordered.
Apart from this I am happy with the Muley set
