I haven't quite mastered the art of just how many head beads to heat.  More is better than not enough!!!

After the cooking is finished, I put water on them to stop them burning. (Just need a few to reheat the pot to clean it).  So now I have a number of 1/2 sized beads.  Will these re-heat?

Being as you dowsed them with water, they are probably not going to be any good, as charcoal is pourus it will hold moisture, but they might dry out after some time.

Instead of water Barb, just smother them with some sort of lid, they will go out & can be re used, but when re used I'd suggest only putting them in the top of the chimney & only used as extras.
I often keep a few of these "little fella's" hot to get my next batch of beads going in the chimney, instead of using more fire lighters.

What Mick said is right...it is an old trick using a Weber BBQ close the vents and smother the fire..and reuse for a top off.

Hahahahahahaha.  I was thinking that to Aart.  No, I have never re-used them.

Those of you who have put water on them will know that they let off a heap of steam and dust and it goes everywhere.

When I did the cooking at the 4X4 Show recently I did that but next door just the other side of a partition was the Nissan stand.  They had to rewash and polish all there 4X4's and I was asked not to do it again.   Embarrassed
