As promised, I have done a Banana Bread in a silcone pan.

...

The pan was not greased or prepared in any way.
Once cooled it cam away from the pan easily.

...

Note the bulging in the pan.
This could be a problem in presentation.

I am very comfortable with something bulging in the middle LOL, I am sure it didnt affect the taste.   At least it didnt dissolve.

Can you let us know how many beads you used top and bottom? and if you turned it at all and the approx time also would be very much appreciated.

Carolyn

It was a 12" L & C
8 beads under and 16 on top
I cooked this after i did the bread rolls.
Took 50 minutes  in a preheated oven that I hope was between 160 and 180C.
I didn't turn it and it was perfectly cooked through, but not dry.
To make it taste a little better I added left over butterscotch sauce to pour over for afternoon tea.

I wonder if the bulging contributed to the cracking open of the crust/top of the banana bread?

Again thanks, I am sure the heat might have something to do with the top cracking a bit, lets hope one of the experts posts something in this regard.

Agree 100% Carolyn. I would bet that the temp is a little high as tops cracking usually indicates just that. But who cares a little icing & you won't see it.

The only bulge we need to worry about is around OUR middle from eating to much of the good tucker.

Interesting about the sides bulging.  Looks tasty though.
