1st pic is a trivet I got from the tip. No idea what it was originally used for but heaps better than the bought ones and is Stainless..

Getting ready Heat beads are a goin'...

Home made wind shield in place for you to see..

Heat beads in base of my cooker!!! 9 in total..

CO in on top of beads - ready for 15 on the top...

15 on the top and steamin' away....

Ready to serve after 1 1/2 hrs approx....

Eat ya heart out my best mate Doug who is nomading in the territory 2nite eating cold baked beans and cold coffee...

Oh the beer was really great after this feed mate.....

Yup sure did but they are so easy and I even use them when we go camping coz it is easy to control heat. I still use coals but I luv the ease...

Good idea using the bag.  I use them all the time in the electric oven, but did not think to use it in CO.

Interesting looking cooking pots that the CO is in. Haven't seen these before.

Hi Barb,

The cooking pots you refer to are old gas bottles with the tops cut off, a few holes drilled around the base and sides, and a couple of tent pegs to support the CO as can be seen in the pic with the heat beads in the bottom.

A "chimney" is welded to the top to create a draft but when using the beads on top of the CO's I leave to chimney top off. You can see the small bottle in the background with the shiny flue pipe..

I use the oven bags often as they make things just so much easier to clean and in fact I do not really need to clean the oven tonight as such ... just wipe out with paper towel..
