I have been in touch with Diana and Chris Anwyl, the Managing Directors of Simply No Knead Breadmaking.  They are the manufacturers of Simply No Knead Bread Mixes and yes they are simply that, a bread mix that requires no kneading.

The result being that a parcel arriving today with a couple of packages of bread mix and a pack of yeast.  The two packs are a Tuscany Mix and a Sourdough Mix.

Many years ago (something like ten) these were available for purchase in Coles and I used them quite a lot myself when camping. They are fantastic. The bread is just like any other bread yet no kneading is required.

Something happened and they disappeared for a while but have resurfaced as an internet company.

Check out the website for full details.

I am going to be doing a little road testing with these products over the next month or so to see how they go.

Will keep you all informed.

Photo is of the two packs arrived today.

Cheers

Derek

Very interesting, I will be extremely eager to see the results, for me kneading sucks and I am always on the lookout for anything that makes life easier.

I think they got pushed out of the mainstream market because the mixes weren't compatible with any of the bread making machines, which of course knead the mix automatically.
I know I stopped using these mixes because of that same reason.  Fantastic product.  But I use a machine when at home and do a damper when out and about.  Well, in truth I take a loaf of home made when I scoot off in the Jeep for a weekend away and if I run out I then make a damper...if I have time.
Good link Derek.  Will look it up.

My mother-in-law fell down a wishing well, I was amazed.       I never knew they worked.

There are heaps of no knead breads on Youtube.  I recently made a loaf while grandddaughter was here and she enjoyed seeing it made on the computer and then in reality.  I never knead the bread on the piroshki.  I again made them on Thursday a larger size and sticking to the idea of a first (sponge) rising then a sticky mix left for several hours worked perfectly and not as open as some of the ones on Youtube.  Naan breads etc are all there for you to watch as refresher if you didnt get to see our *BBC making his at Thora.

Thanks for this Derek. Not seen this before.
I just registered in their website and placed an order for three mixes!
I also sent them an email saying that I was referred to them by Derek Bullock of COCIA.
The prices seem quite reasonable.
