Now, I don't remember where, but I did see something, maybe someone who's gone walkabout told me, that when the Furphy Foundry found errors like they they would break the handles and throw them out. But maybe someone grabbed a few thinking to make a $ or 2.

Of course, all that could be rumour, yowie tale, or......
