OK, had enough of talking about large hairy bipedal mammals.....I think you all know what I mean.
I'm sorry Aart but you've had your time in the limelight.  Grin Grin Grin

Anyway here it is:
Your Favourite Aussie Movie

or Your Favourite (insert country of origin here) Movie
for our overseas members.

I'm gonna cheat and put up a few.

1. Running on Empty
- legend of a movie, lots of fast cars (real cars with serious horsepower). A bit cheesy by todays standards but I like it.
2. Mad Max 1,2&3
- Big bad Mel Gibson before he got girly and wondering what women want.
3. Rogue
- Only watched this the other day, about a monster croc. A bit hard to believe but it is one bloody big lizard (probably swaller a yowie whole)
4. Pay it Forward
- I know not an Aussie movie, but could teach us all a lesson and nearly draw a tear from the hardest of us.

Well they are my pics of the top of my head.
Only one rule..........none about bloody yowies!!!! Smiley

I dont have a true favourite Australian, Continental or other.

I enjoy most movies.  With the Red Hat Society group we mostly see light funny ones and a lot these days pertain to us "older" women and I find them fun.  Females can laugh at themselves better than men in MHO.

I also go to the Dendy at Circular Quay which has some very unusual movies mostly with subtitles, but I am a quick reader LOL.

The furtherest back Australian Movie that I have never forgotten is Jedda (1955) before some of you were born.  I still cant hear didgeridoos without the hackles on my neck standing up.

Being the romantic I am at times I also have never forgotten Zhivago and the horse being ridden through the daffodils, of course the music is magic in this movie for me as well.

Another Aussie one is Muriels Wedding which I related to in some aspects very  much.  Especially when rather than mow the lawn it was just set fire to.

Sirens, wasn't such a great film but I seem to have very vivid recollections of Kate Fischer & Elle in that Billabong bare as the day they were born.

Must run a replay of that dit. Grin

Just to extend Robbo's thread. What is the favourite all time movie.

{Dances with Wolves} & {Master & Commander} Deliverance reminds me too much of those big hairy bush things.

Yup I agree with the hat girl..

I remember a movie called Old Yella or yellow - somethimg like that 'bout a faithful dog (like me I guess). Top Aussie movie but do ya reckon I can remember the story line!!! Not on ya nellie..

Nuther old film was of course the WIZ of Oz.. Great family movie... what ever happened to family movies... and of course Gone with the wind - Frankly I don't give a damn...

................and who remembers the space serials at the beginning of a "picture show" where the robots were carboard box's painted silver and they talked like Yowies....

Just my thorts...

Grrr!!! Wink
