We had lovely weather for the week at Peak Hill with the camper/trailer group.  67 rigs with assorted kids and animals turned up.  They were from SA, TAS, VIC, NSW and QLD.

Unfortunately for me not as much CO cooking as previously I had seen.  I managed to cook in mine almost everyday:

Pork Roast (was a bit big for the 12" but camp oven mate helped)
Soy & Linseed Bread
Fruit Muffins (Whitewings packet with extra fruit)

Scones (CWA mix, I like this as you just add water).
Shanks (Huges ones from the local butcher at Park Hill)
Apricot Chicken

I didnt photograph them all as they are nothing new really, I found fire coals seemed a lot hotter than the beads.

The locals welcomed us as country people do.  We had the local radio broadcast from the site one day and a band played one night and had everyone up dancing.  The local footie team cooked a fabulous breakfast to help with their fund raising.  The MOTH had a $5 haircut!!!  The idea was that we would infuse the towns economy while we were there by buying locally as much as possible.  The chicken breasts from the butcher were as big as a turkey and tasted sooo good as did the huge shanks.

The camp oven mate got a bit of publicity as people walking past our camp site commented they hadnt seen one before.

The biggest thumbs up was for my lid stand made by our own PD using horse shoes.  A local lady Jenny who is a member of the ct group came for day visits even brought me back some more horseshoes after seeing it and said how wonderful it was and such a great idea.

My historic picture of my first cooking with coals in the CO to come:

LK they are on the laptop and some will eventually be on the ct forum but as you have asked I will put a few to give you an idea of an Aussie camper/trailer gathering on line possibly tomorrow.  Its Octoberfest (German) celebrations in Sydney today and I am off out very shortly.

OJ has given you the site but I dont expect the pictures to be up for maybe a week - nothing to do with me - I just took some and submitted them to Rob who is one of the Managers of the group and does most of the web site and he will select what he thinks appropriate.  This is another good group of nice people with similar interests but as I regard most of it as "boys stuff" I dont frequent it very often.

Ah, well, hmm, I still would like to see some.  After all this is also a camping forum.

& there are sections for  posting what you've done recently in camping.

I think that's what Carolyn put up in the general section.

Actually, I was thinking that if this was a camping gathering/rally, it would fit in the Camping Section here:  http://www.aussiecampovenforum.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?catselect=campchat  At least two of those sub sections would fit.

But stills, still pictures, please.
