If that is the one sold by "fishyrabbit" there are 4 small pics beside the main one.
The one on the bottom right (unless it is the lid from another oven?) clearly says "metters 11 inch"
Still too high though, but having said that my missus has sold some things for incredible prices too!

No this is a completely different oven from another seller, just listed. Has a higher domed lid and no markings so how can they claim it to be a Metters ? Just someone trying to get on the bandwagon while the bidding fever is still high.
I'll have to start selling off some of my unmarked ovens and claim they are Albions or whatever.

I was tempted to send a question something like:

"Would you please post 5 or 6 close ups of the rim so that interested buyers may see where the letters have worn down".

Jono, as to the name wearing off, I say BS, I don't care how badly rusted a lid is you can still see evidence of the name and with the oven in question I think the lid is too "domed" to be a Metters, I had a look at my Metters and the lids are more flat.
It's old and looks OK but it's not a "named" oven.

You should all notice that this oven has been re-listed as an old camp oven with no specific maker. I sent the seller a short message and she responded well to the information. Hopefully all bidders should take this on board before bidding on this item, someone surely would have purchased this oven under false pretenses.
