There is a Furphy Jaffle Iron listed on eBay at the moment with a starting price of $50.00

Be aware that this is a Chinese made one and the recommended retail price for them is $38.00  Wink

Thats an interesting one Derek.
For starters I would not buy anything other than a square jaffle iron (such a waste of good bread unless a round loaf is used!) and I would not have an aluminium one.
So that leaves the cast iron ones, I have 2, both double, made in "T" but make a top jaffle (beans with chilli).
But back to the point, I notice the brand on this one is "FURPHY'S",
not quite original. Makes one wonder is the brand trademarked or whatever. The asking price is obviously over the top.
After the comments about the oven lids Millmerran, one wonders whether the Furphy Co. cares anymore.
Makes good original CI cooking stuff all the more worth having. In years to come when the Chinese economy has gone down the gurgler and they are all back cooking in clay pots, those "elcheepo" ovens could be worth more than an original Furphy.
