This product BCF is selling for $199 new and if you go to Anaconda will bet that price by 10%, shame I don't have an Anaconda near me.

I thinking about getting one of these as the one we had I left behind at Point Plomer, it was one of those pop up ones that you have to fight to get back into the bag, don't want one with poles either this one is like the delux gazebo it just pulls out Scissor action.

I know it's not cheap but at least it stopped the arguments when putting it up and it only takes a minute to set up.

I really want it for showers, I don't like cold showers.

Hubby keeps telling me it's the simplicity of camping, cold showers and all, funny I did notice last week he did not have one cold shower, could it have been someone was boiling hot water for showers.

I use the ladies of a day and a porta loo of a night, I'm not going to trip over a Goanna of a night going to the loo.

I usually boil a billy and add it to 10 litres of cold water that takes the chill off the shower, ok it's lukewarm but I can handle that and it's enough water for both of us.

I do have 2 solar bags but they send me nuts, the hose keeps falling off and I end up with half a bag of hot water.

Usually use a 12volt shower but it gave up the ghost, plan B come into action one saucepan and a bucket of water makes for a good tub, also saved water.

Methinks I was a bit over the top with my comments to you, I do tend to get a fraction  touchy about such things.
I have expressed my feelings about those "sorbent" flowers blowing about the countryside and my pet hate - disposable nappies (grenades) left just where your dog can pick one up.
I never let my dog out of the truck until I have checked around for suchlike (even then she is on a rope).
So no hard feelings, sorry from this end and see you out there.

Getting back to the topic

We have a self erecting style tent with a Coleman hot water on demand unit.
I don't find packing it away very difficult to pack away.. anout 15 seconds from scratch.

A little over the top for bush camping, I hear people say..
It makes my dearest wife happy to travel/camp in the bush with me.
So what pleases her.. makes me happy too.

That's no suck up either..

Hi All,

Managed to get a Oztrail Mega Shower Tent Ensuite, when I got home and looked at the receipt the person that sold it too me undercharged me by $50.

Paid $149 when it should have been $199, Anaconda have them for $250 but will match and bet by 10%.

I told my husband and asked him if I should go back and tell them he asked me if I had rocks in my head as it is 1 1/2 round trip with the cost of petrol and using my time, he said why don't you just give them an extra $100 for their error.

So it looks like I have had a win, they charged me for the blue Oztrail double ensuite.

I'm Happy.

We took one of thoses solar heated 20Litre showers with us on our recent trip.   We had never used one before. On a sunny day it certainly heats up the water.  However, the first day we tried to use it the weight of the water tore the bag at the handle and we couldn't use it in the manner it was meant to be used - totally useless!!!!! We resorted to the old bucket and scoop method.

I have tried a lot off different shower set ups over the years, I fall back onto this canvas bucket type,( the rose screws in to stop it running) holds about twenty Lt's, packs up to next to nothing.

I reckon over the years I have tried just about everthing and have come back to the canvas bucket and brass rose as in Muzz's pic. Like I always say KISS, nothing is perfect but it'll do me.

This is one of the more interesting bore baths Ive come across.......used to use this one a fair bit when we were working between Coonamble and Come By Chance on the wheat harvest. The water was perfect temp and didnt smell to much like sulphur .........very relaxing after a long day if ya took a cold stubbie with ya. ...........sit back and take in the view......not a another person for miles.

I have had many a tub in the twelve mile bore on the Walgett road from Connamble, concrete tub at the bore head, hot water on tap, the road now bypass it and  the bore could be capped. I think all the bore drains are finished now. I have not been that way for fifteen years or more. I will make a run through there next year to "The Ridge" and check out some of the best fishing holes around in the 60's before the carp got a hold in the 70's.  Drought and land clearing buggered it.
Cod, Yellowbelly,cat fish and big grunters (bream). And plenty of wild pigs. Great fun in those days and great to look back on.

Me --!!! I gotta home made rocket gas fired hot water shower powered by a small johnson pump, a portable battery in a carry case and a large plastic bucket for the water. I can pump from a creek etc up to a 2 m head and depending on the water supply, can shower for 2 weeks continuously if I wanted to. I also have a golden shower tent like SKIP (must be a Navy thing that...hahahahaha). We also use a tarp around the shower but mostly the tent. Grand children luv it - cannot get them out..

Twenty five years ago, I bought a canvas shower bag equipped with a moderate to large  sized adjustable brass shower rose. It holds around 15 - 20 litres of water which is more than enough to shower both myself and the missus. Over the years, it has proved itself to be a robust, compact and reliable shower unit and I've never felt the need to replace it.

i've been useing the canvas bag type shower for yrs, there great, i havent had much luck with the solar ones, they  go mouldy on me when not in use, pretty hard to dry em out with only the small filler hole, & you realy need one per person, i can have upto a doz people for a weekend.

This is my latest, it's a few yrs old now, often newbies would turn the canvas bag rose off to tight & i'd have to pull it apart to sort it, also they would always worry how much water was left.

So i made this out of an old catering food bucket, it has a toilet systern tap, mainly because it was the lightest (easiest to turn) tap i could find, a couple of plastic fittings, i made it all up in the aisles, of bunnings  , then used an old shower fitting from home, just removed the long shaft.



I timed my bag shower & it went for about 3-4 min.

Inside the bucket i screwed a plastic blank into the pipe fitting blocking it off, then started by drilleng a 3 mm hole, then 4 mm etc till it ran the same time as the bag shower.
Next problem was there wasnt enough water to run the whole rose properly, so i cut a circle of rubber at about 40mm dia, & syliconed it to the centre of th rose, that only left about 4 rows of holes around the outside, it run nice then.
Works great, you get about 4 min, you can always see how much water is left, i usualy get wet turn it off then soap & shampoo up then turn it on to rince off .

we heat the water up in an old keg when there are a few of us, if it's just me a fill an old staino ern in the morning & just leave it in the sun all day in summer, just boil a kettle on the gas in winter.
