Hi Dave & welcome to the madness,
Interesting link but with regards to cooking a turkey in a garbage bin I can't help wondering.....why????

I'd be a bit worried about the fumes from the Zinc coating my self!!
I think I will stick to doing them in my 18" Billmans!!

Mick.

I hear that  Smiley

One of the sites recommend lighting a fire in the bin first to get rid of any coating.

I'd love to give it a go for sheer 'stir' factor, might even con she-who-must-be-obeyed to let me try it in the backyard with a couple of chooks stacked up.

I've done chooks in my big Hillbilly a fair bit, I suppose the theory is the same.

That reminds me, when I was down at Cobram a guy cooked a chook in a cardboard box lined with ally foil using heat beads.

Worked well.

Very interesting Dave.
Don't know if I'd try it.
Expensive doing that to a trash can.
They'd rust out pretty quick afterwards.

Has anybody tried seasoning a trash can?
